K.J. Bathe Award 2025
Award for the best paper in the field of Computational Engineering published by a young researcher in the international journal Computers & Structures (Elsevier) during the years 2023 and 2024
Candidates must be under the age of 40 on January 1st, 2025

This award is named to recognize the outstanding contributions made by Professor Klaus-Jürgen Bathe over many years to the field of computational engineering. Professor Bathe has not only made very significant advances in many research fields of computational engineering but has also been instrumental in bringing these advances to their industrial and practical fruition.

K.J. Bathe Award 2023
The K.J. Bathe Award 2023 is for the Best Paper by a Young Researcher in the field of Computational Engineering published in the International Journal of Computers & Structures during 2018-2022.

There were over 100 papers considered for the Award making the task of the Computers & Structures Editorial Board (without Professor Bathe) in judging the papers very difficult. After extensive deliberations and voting it was decided to award the eligible authors of four papers a Bathe Award. Two authors of the fourth paper were eligible for the Award. So five authors and their outstanding papers were recognised. Each author received a certificate and a premium.
The awarded researchers, listed in alphabetical order, have been
